Front End Coding for Sitecore Sites

Tags Front End UI
In this session, we will talk about best practices to write Front End code for CMS's and particularly Sitecore.
Our main focus will be modularity in HTML, CSS and JS. We will also discuss the processes we follow at Verndale and talk about our automation toolkit. (We use Grunt). This will lay a groundwork to some of the features we might discuss in a future meetup about Responsive Images, Page Editor support for sitecore, Consuming services, etc.

GlassMapper with Sitecore

In the March 2015 Kick-Off Meet we started talking about setting up glass mapper, but didn't get into the details of coding with glassmapper.

In this session we will go a step forward and look into the advantages glassmapper brings with it while we code.

We will also look into customizing the T4 template files if needed and talk about sample organization for multisite solutions.

In this session, we went over Glass.Mapper, right from the basics of setup to more complex concepts of scalability and multisite solutions with Glass.Mapper. We went over a demo solution, showing complete page editor support and also went over tips for glassmapper usage and a few best practices.
